The remodel removes the patchwork of previous modifications and enhances the cottage aesthetic that the original home provided.

The front entrance was given a grander appeal and the roof lifted up – the steeper slopes provided an appropriate pitch for the new wood shingles. Interior walls were removed and raised to allow the Family Room, Kitchen, and Dining areas to flow into each other. The garage was expanded to accommodate the Laundry Room.

A new accessory guest house cabana and new, linear pool emphasize the home’s axis, and allow for peeks of the golf course beyond. Traditional materials like recycled Old Chicago brick, stained cypress, and smooth stucco were combined to provide a material palette complimentary to the home’s original cottage style.
